Head Coach Stephen Smith Contact info: email SSmith1226@hotmail.com  Phone: 1-408-390-1836   Stephen Smith has extensive experience within the gymnastic industry. He has been involved in gymnastics for over 20 years both as a gymnast and as a coach. As a gymnast, Stephen was a 3 time member of the United States National Team and the National Champion on the Pommel Horse. He attended the University of California at Santa Barbara where he received a scholarship to compete on the gymnastics team. Within his first season on the team, Stephen was voted Team Captain by his peers and coaching staff. Stephen also attended Temple University in Philadelphia where after spending a half season on the gymnastics team, he once again was voted Captain. Upon earning his Bachelors Degree at Temple University, Stephen began coaching at a local gym, where he took a boy's team program that had only eight children enrolled and doubled it within three months. Since then, he has produced multiple State and Regional Champions along with Regional and National Team Members. Currently, Stephen is Head Coach of the Boys Gymnastic Team at Montgomery County Gymnastics in Hatfield, Pa. Stephen has attended camps and clinics all over the country including National Training Clinics at the United States Olympic Training Center, Colorado Springs, Colorado, where he continues to strengthen his knowledge as a coach. Stephen is a USAG Professional Member as well as USAG Safety Certified. In the past, he has judged compulsory & optional gymnastics competitions. Stephen is well respected and established in the gymnastics community. Through his dedication, education, and expert knowledge for fundamentals, Stephen makes gymnastics fun while bringing out each child’s potential. He currently has 3 Future Stars Members and many gymnasts heading for National Competitions.
